Since apparently the answer around these parts is always, "Miata," here's a new build thread with one. Guy buys turbo Miata 1800 miles away. Drives it all the way home. It gets stolen the next week and later found flipped over in a ditch.
Guy decides to do a complete rebuild/restoration of the car. Cleans/fixes/replaces every nut, bolt, and part on the car to an insane level of perfection.

I know (of) a guy who did this with a Mirage to Evo conversion. He replaced everything. Looked brand new underneath when he was done.
Work like that is very impressive.

I think I know of the guy you're talking about, a white 4/5/6 evo right?

Nope. The one I am thinking of was an Evo V I do believe, and if I remember correctly it was green.
But I know of another guy who built a white Evo V and was very meticulous as well.

Took me a second to realize what you were referring to. Fixed the double "L." Thanks.

Because of the sheer volume, or the complete lack of organization?
The later was my reason for cringing on this one.

The later for sure. It's not like he's putting together a piece of IKEA furniture.

Yeah the Evo V is the one I was talking about, VERY meticulous, looked as he imported the car but it was actually the Mirage, I'll search for that green one you mentioned... might be an interesting read :)

Where was the white one located (general location, like state will work)? I am wondering if it is the same guy I am thinking of.

California, where exactly I can't recall. But it's was upper IIRC.

If you look further into the thread it is because all the bolts were sent to a zinc coating shop to have all the bolts gold zinc plated. Organizing before then would have been pointless. :)
